Test Practice

"Whoever controls the media control the opinions". It is true because whoever contols this can choose to what publish and what not to publish and this can make a person, if it is persuasive enough, to change the thoughts of people to the one of the newspaper in a subliminal way, or in other words it goes unnoticed by the people, till the point where people will actually not think fo themselves but will think what the newspaper think and tell them to think. "There is litle that can be done to rectify this". this statement is also true because one can't tell the newspaper what not to publish because of the free expresion right, that also forbidden the government to tell them what to not publish so they start to publish such thing in an unstopable way that makes most of the world think what the newspaper says and the few that are near and related to the facts mentioned (revolutions, disturbs, etc.) think different, but being the minory

March 8th, 2013

1.-The course this year is, apart from the continue of the IB program, where the IB students we'll learn to analyze poetry (which is a challenge in spanish and more challenging in english) and also we'll learn about mass communication and it's features (we already start learning that) and other language elements during the first and second periods, and literature elements as poetry analysis (as said before) and the book "Jane Eyre" during the third and fourth periods. The assessment this year (with some missing dates) is as it's seen in this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhrcfNzEXZx6dG81bEZHb2dHTEFNQmVISm53eFBVZ2c#gid=0
or through this one: http://year11languageandliterature.wordpress.com/category/assessment/ in case the one above doesn't work well. My expectation this year is basically (as in most classes) improve my grades and improve myself from last year.
2.-
a) The "Lowe Bull" ad agency
b) It is. The image itself is attractive because the persons would notice the big image with the little AXE ad being indistinguishable at certain distances so the people would get near to see what it is and try to understand it.
c) The videogames adiction
d) The gamer point of view
e) Make people think that without AXE they would be like the guy in the image so they would buy it to avoid being ike him.

3.-
a) Mcdonald's
b) It is. The hamburger itself is attractive because the people will notice a giant hamburger ad and when getting near will notice the weight of it and go and buy it to taste it.
c) The hunger value (?)
d) The hamburger maker point of view
e) To attract people to eat that hamburger saying that it is tastier and better than other ones so the people will buy it more.
